While checking it's release date again via steam I was looking for some cheaper options to get the game and stumbled upon this offer for 29,99 €:
https://www.g2a.com/total-war-rome-2-st ... C_DE&id=52&
It's not including the Greek States Culture Pack compared to the steam 55 € offer but it's all I want for a great prize. Don't need the box, like the steam support like for updates etc.
Think I'll get it! Who else is going for Rome 2 ?

Worked like a charm, received my steam code and preloading the game. If I'm lucky I might even have the Greek States Culture Pack, can't tell at this point for sure. Either way, that price was a a great offer!

first impressions ? I only had 3 games so far 3v3 got stomped vs RTK guys, one historical battle got stomped vs AI & one 1v1 skirmish win vs AI.
Too early to be judged, I do miss a matchmaking system the most, ranked battles and a clan conquest map

I don't miss the Avatar and veteran unit options they had in Shogun 2.

Mainly been skirmishing myself to test the various units. I find the sea battles really bad compared to empire and nepolion, but more testing is required to make a final verdict.
Also, it's a little unstable I fear. Had 2-3 crashes in the time I played it. In regards to buggy units, try putting units in a turtle siege thingy (ill get name next time I play) and watch it go ahead of your units and your units subsequently all die... Lost a match thanks to that bug... Also, the artillery ai is stupid ad hell. Getting it to shoot can be a challenge at times.
On the whole, it's very good, and the scale is EPIC (try city assault on Roma and set the settlement to the biggest available option) Took a good 45 mins to take it!

Havn't had much multiplayer battles so far, those I had I mostly end up losing despite I often get the upper hand feeling :S
What I definately need to get more used to is the different factions and possible unit compositions since I mainly played with Rome. Macedonians seem pretty sucessful too.
However, has anyone found some useful multiplayer guides, sites to tweak and share unit compositions and so on, basically everything that helps getting into the game faster without discovering everything on my own ?

TW:R2 sucks, unfortunately. Even an arden fan like me feels flying War Thunder a better deal.

Indeed. I find something is missing from it still

Something which makes the others special, a spark if you will.
